MEET DOMINIQUE WILLIAMS

DOMINIQUE COMES FROM A FAMILY OF BASKETBALL. HIS GRANDFATHER, WANDY WILLIAMS, WAS AN ALL-AMERICAN AT HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY, HIS LATE UNCLE, HANK WILLIAMS, WAS INDUCTED INTO THE NYS HALL OF FAME AS A LONG TIME COACH FOR MALVERNE HIGH SCHOOL, FOR WHICH THE GYM IS NOW NAMED “HANK WILLIAMS MEMORIAL” IN HIS PASSING. HIS FATHER, HENRY WILLIAMS, FINISHED HIS CAREER AT NYIT BEFORE HE BEGAN COACHING AND NOW RUNS THE FAMILY CLOTHING LINE CALLED “BUCKETS”.

AT AGE 5 DOMINIQUE’S FATHER INTRODUCED HIM TO THE GAME, WHERE HE BEGAN SHOOTING 200 SHOTS PER DAY, WHICH GREW TO 500 AS HE ENTERED HIGH SCHOOL. DOMINIQUE LEARNED REDEMPTION HIS SENIOR YEAR AT MALVERNE H.S. UNDER DARROL LOPEZ, WHEN AS A JUNIOR HE MISSED THE POTENTIAL GAME WINNING SHOT DURING THE PLAYOFFS TO END THEIR SEASON. THE VERY NEXT DAY, HE & HIS RETURNING TEAMMATES SHOVELED THE SNOW-COVERED LOCAL COURTS TO START PREPARING FOR THEIR SENIOR SEASON. THEY FINISHED 22-1, EARNING A SPOT IN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, WHERE HE CONVERTED A FINAL 3-POINT PLAY TO FINISH THE YEAR.

AFTER HIGH SCHOOL DOMINIQUE THEN WENT ON TO ATTEND SETON HALL UNIVERSITY WHERE HE STUDIED SPORTS MANAGEMENT. HE THEN MET JERRY POWELL AND HAVE BEEN TRAINING FULL TIME AT BASKETBALL RESULTS EVER SINCE. DOMINQUE TAKES PRIDE IN THE FACT THAT HE PLAYS AN INTRICATE PART IN DEVELOPING PLAYERS AT BASKETBALL RESULTS. WHEN SPEAKING TO DOMINIQUE WILLIAMS HE WAS QUOTED BY SAYING “I NOW CONSIDER JERRY A MENTOR AND FEEL TRULY BLESSED TO DEVELOP TALENT IN THE SPORT I LOVE”. DOMINIQUE CAN BE FOUND DOING WHAT HE LOVES, BREEDING ALL-AMERICANS AND PROS ALONGSIDE HIS CO-WORKERS AT BASKETBALL RESULTS OR SITTING ON THE BENCH ALONGSIDE HIS FATHER ASSISTANT COACHING HIS AAU TEAM ”TEAM BUCKETS”.
